At Smile Wright Dental, we treat patients of all ages, up to 18 years old. We love watching our patients grow up with healthy, beautiful smiles! Establishing a strong foundation of good oral care practices sets your child up for a lifetime of good oral health, and we enjoy partnering with parents to keep your child’s smile in good health.

When should I bring my child to visit the dentist?

We recommend your child visit us every six months, starting from when their first tooth comes in, to get on a schedule of appropriate dental care. Regular visits to the dentist, plus a good at-home oral care routine, is the best way to keep your child’s teeth and mouth healthy. Starting dental care early with Smile Wright Dental will help your child be comfortable in our office, and will prevent the need for costly and painful procedures in their future. Baby teeth, also known as primary teeth, are the placeholder for adult teeth that need to last a lifetime, so it’s important to take care of them as soon as they come in. We recommend helping your child brush their teeth at least twice a day, and flossing at least once. For young children, use a toothpaste with fluoride to keep their teeth healthy and strong. If you’re having trouble getting your child to follow a good oral care routine, give us a call! We are always happy to answer questions, share tips, and best practices, or schedule an appointment for you to help your child.
